Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup granulated sugar for coating
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • Optional: chocolate or caramel dipping sauce

Method

  1. Combine water, butter, sugar, and salt in a saucepan and bring to a gentle boil.
  2. Add flour all at once and stir until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Let cool slightly, then mix in eggs and vanilla until thick and glossy.
  4. Pipe or roll small 1-inch bites onto parchment.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 375°F, spray basket lightly, and cook 8–10 minutes until golden.
  6. Brush warm bites with melted butter and roll in cinnamon-sugar mix.
  7. Serve immediately with chocolate or caramel sauce.

Notes

  1. Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket — work in batches for even crispness.
  2. For best texture, coat churro bites while still warm so sugar sticks perfectly.
  3. Reheat leftovers in the air fryer for 2–3 minutes to restore crunch.
