Ingredients
  

Fall Snack Mix
  • 3 cups Crispix or chocolate Chex cereal
  • 3 cups pretzels plain, chocolate-covered, or white chocolate-covered
  • 11 oz candy corn 1 bag
  • 11 oz candy pumpkins 1 bag
  • 10 oz peanut M&M's 1 bag
  • 9 oz orange and cream M&M's 1 bag
  • 7.6 oz Rolos candy 1 bag, unwrapped
  • 5.29 oz caramel popcorn 1 bag
  • 1 cup peanuts roasted and salted

Method
 

  1. Place the cereal, pretzels, and caramel popcorn in a very large mixing bowl.
  2. Scatter the candy corn, candy pumpkins, peanut M&M's, orange and cream M&M's, Rolos, and peanuts evenly over the top.
  3. Use a large spoon or flexible spatula to gently lift and fold the mixture from the bottom for about 30 seconds, turning the bowl as you work to avoid crushing the cereal and popcorn.
  4. Serve immediately, or transfer the snack mix to airtight containers or individual treat bags and store at room temperature.

Notes

  1. Use the widest bowl available so the ingredients can move without breaking the cereal or popcorn.
  2. Gently toss the mix again before serving because the heavier candies and peanuts naturally settle toward the bottom.
  3. For a nut-free version, omit the peanuts and peanut M&M's and replace them with extra cereal, pretzels, popcorn, raisins, marshmallows, or nut-free chocolate candy.
  4. Store the mix in an airtight container at room temperature and use it within 3 to 5 days for the crispest texture.
  5. Check package labels for gluten, dairy, peanut, and cross-contact warnings when serving guests with allergies.
