A rich layered bar dessert made with a cookie dough base, an Oreo sandwich cookie center, and a fudgy brownie topping, baked together for the ultimate indulgent treat.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups plain flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
- 24 Oreo cookies
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup plain flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup melted chocolate or chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9×9 inch pan with parchment paper.
2. Cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt, then fold into the dough.
5. Stir in the chocolate chips and press the cookie dough evenly into the pan.
6. Place the Oreo cookies in neat rows over the cookie dough layer.
7. Whisk the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla for the brownie layer.
8. Add cocoa powder, flour, and salt, stirring until glossy.
9. Pour brownie batter over the Oreos and spread evenly.
10. Bake 35–40 minutes until the top is set with moist crumbs.
11. Cool completely or chill for cleaner slicing.
Notes
For cleaner cuts, chill the baked brownies for at least one hour.
The bars freeze well for up to three months.
