- ½ cup Breadcrumbs
- 1 Egg (beaten)
- 1 Onion (finely diced)
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Black pepper
- 3 tbsp Butter
- 3 tbsp plain flour
- 2 cups Beef broth
- 1 cup Heavy cream
- 1 Onion (sliced)
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 Yukon gold potatoes (diced)
- 4 Carrots (sliced)
- 2 Celery stalks (sliced)
- 1 tsp Smoked paprika
- 2 Bay leaves
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, gently mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper.
- Form into 6-8 oval-shaped patties and set aside.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and brown the beef patties for 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté sliced onions until soft.
- Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder; stir until thickened.
- Layer the browned beef patties, potatoes, carrots, and celery in the slow cooker.
- Pour the gravy mixture over the beef and vegetables.
- Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- Before serving, stir in heavy cream and adjust seasoning.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with mashed potatoes or crusty bread.

- For a thicker gravy, make a cornstarch slurry and stir it in towards the end of cooking.
