Description

A moist, buttery loaf coated with cinnamon sugar that tastes just like a donut but in bread form. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or cozy baking days.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or milk + 1 tbsp lemon juice)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter (for coating)
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for coating)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, combine melted butter, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Mix wet and dry ingredients gently until just combined.
  5. Pour into loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 45–55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let cool 10 minutes, then brush with melted butter.
  8. Sprinkle or roll the loaf in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.

Notes

  1. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or 5 days in the fridge.
  2. For freezing, slice the loaf and wrap each piece tightly for up to 3 months.
